Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated to honor the birth of Lord Ganesha. Devotees bring home Ganesha idols and perform elaborate poojas.
Purpose: Removal of obstacles, success in new beginnings.
Time: On Ganesh Chaturthi day, usually in August-September. Samagri: Ganesh idol, durva grass, modak, red cloth, flowers, coconut, sandalwood, diya, agarbatti, haldi-kumkum.
Steps Overview:
- Install the idol on a clean, decorated platform.
- Perform Sankalp (vow) for the pooja.
- Offer modaks, flowers, durva grass.
- Chant Ganesh mantras and perform Aarti.
- Conclude the pooja with prasadam.
